Knights Overcome Wolf Pack 5-2 with Late Surge

The North Vancouver Wolf Pack came up short on Thursday night in Surrey, dropping a 5–2 decision to the Knights at the North Surrey Sport and Ice Complex. Despite hanging tight through two periods, the Pack couldn’t contain a late surge from the home side.

Surrey opened the scoring midway through the first period on a power play goal from Randall, but North Vancouver answered back before intermission. Forward Tse capitalized on a man-advantage of his own, burying a shot set up by Souter to level the score 1–1.

The Knights regained control in the second when Randall struck again, and although the Wolf Pack generated chances, they couldn’t solve Surrey netminder St. Hilaire. Early in the third, Dante DiMarino gave North Vancouver life, pulling the visitors within one with his first of the night.

That momentum was short-lived, however, as Surrey rattled off three goals in the final seven minutes to put the game out of reach. Goaltender Taylor kept the Pack competitive with 33 saves on 38 shots, while North Vancouver finished with 29 shots of their own. The Wolf Pack will look to regroup quickly and carry over the positives from their special teams play into their next matchup against The Abbotsford Pilots back at Harry Jerome on Saturday Night.
