Wolf Pack Rally Falls Short in Overtime Heartbreaker

The North Vancouver Wolf Pack battled fiercely Sunday night at Centennial Arena, but ultimately dropped a 5–4 decision in overtime to the White Rock Whalers. After a slow start that saw them trailing 4–1 early, the Wolf Pack roared back in the third period to force extra time — only to see the Whalers’ Robins strike at 2:54 of the first overtime to hand North Vancouver a gut-wrenching loss.

White Rock struck first just 7:24 into the game, as Robins (with helpers from Halley and Adriano) lit the lamp to give the Whalers the early edge. That lead grew in the second period, with Strand (assisted by Lenarduzzi and Atwal) opening the frame’s scoring at 4:48. Robins netted his second of the night at 12:49 on the power play, with McNally and Adriano assisting. Less than a minute later, McDonald (on the power play off McNally and Robins) made it 4–0 for White Rock. The Wolf Pack finally answered late in the period with a goal by Davidson (assist: Ramsden-Wood) at 19:34.

Down 4–1 heading into the third, the Wolf Pack mounted a furious comeback. Kazakoff got them within two early in the period at 2:05, assisted by Weiderick and Ramsden-Wood. Then at 7:09, Davidson struck again shorthanded, knotting the game at 4–4. The tying goal came from Souter, with help from Weiderick and Davidson, at 19:16 — capping a dramatic third-period charge.

In overtime, White Rock wasted little time — Robins secured the game-winning goal at 2:54, assisted by Adriano and Heer. Despite the loss, goaltender Taylor stood tall under siege, recording 39 saves on 44 shots. The Wolf Pack weren’t able to convert on any of their three power play opportunities, while White Rock went 2-for-6. The heart shown in the comeback — particularly by Davidson, Kazakoff, and Souter — will give this squad something to build on as the season unfolds.
