SURREY — The North Vancouver Wolf Pack fell 3–1 to the Surrey Knights Thursday night at the North Surrey Sport & Ice Complex, unable to overcome an early two-goal deficit despite a solid middle-period push. The game, played Oct. 16, 2025, saw Surrey get out to a fast start and the Pack chase the rest of the night.
The Knights set the tone in the first period when Brenden Kwan opened the scoring at 1:29 (assisted by Devyn Hayre and Jackson Jesson), and Wesley Rowley made it 2–0 at 5:40 on a feed from Kris Ramos. The Wolf Pack called a timeout at the 5:20 mark to regroup after the quick strike, and Surrey’s Enver Chan was later assessed a roughing minor at 12:54 of the first. The early surge forced North Vancouver to play from behind for the remainder of the night.
North Vancouver mounted its response in the second period when Ryan Tse converted on the power play at 1:21, finishing a play set up by Mack Souter and bringing the Pack to within one. Surrey answered back at 11:17 when Enver Chan scored his second of the night to restore a two-goal margin. The middle frame saw its share of physical battles and penalties that interrupted momentum for both clubs.
The third period featured heavy Wolf Pack pressure but no goals. North Vancouver’s late attack was further disrupted by penalties — including a roughing minor and a 10-minute misconduct assessed to Joshua Moussodji at 14:05 — which curtailed sustained pressure in the final stretch as Surrey protected the lead. The Knights clogged lanes and limited clear scoring chances down the stretch.
Boxscore details underline the story: Surrey outshot the Pack 38–22, North Vancouver finished 1-for-4 on the power play while Surrey went 0-for-5, and netminder Marcus Taylor turned aside 35 of 38 shots in a strong outing. St. Hilaire stopped 21 of 22 for Surrey. The official report lists Hayre and Chan among Surrey’s stars and Marcus Taylor as the Wolf Pack’s star.
Despite the result, there were positives to build on — the power-play connection between Tse and Souter showed promise, and Marcus Taylor kept the Pack in the game with several timely saves. North Vancouver will look to tighten up the opening minutes and clean up penalty trouble as they regroup for their next matchup at home.
