The North Vancouver Wolf Pack has signed five players from the Vancouver NW Hawks program for the 2026-2027 regular season. Forwards Connor Green, Elias Beselt, along with defencemen Charlie Travers, Dylan Wang and Cohen Waite are set to play their first season in junior hockey.
Connor Green is a 2009 5’11 175-Ib right winger who played last season with the NW Hawks U17 AAA. In his sophomore season, Green tallied 19 goals and nine assists in 34 regular-season games. This was massive growth from his rookie season, when he had one goal in 34 games and it shows how much he cares about growing his game.
“I’m someone who competes hard every day, whether it’s in practice or games. I’m always looking to improve. I’ll do whatever the team needs, whether that’s playing a physical game, being responsible defensively, or creating offense,” Connor Green.
On top of his goal-scoring ability, Green plays with a level of pace and physicality that the Wolf Pack embodies. “Connor plays a physical game with pace, something that we lacked last season,” Head Coach & GM Matt Samson.
Eli Beselt is a 2009 5’11 165-Ib forward who played his last three seasons in the NW Hawks program.In his final year with the Hawks, Beselt recorded three goals and 13 assists for 16 points in 36 games. He has a great defensive mind and can be trusted on many parts of the ice.
“I bring a good 200-foot game with an exceptional ability on the penalty kill. I also think I bring good vision up and down the ice with good playmaking ability and hockey IQ,” Eli Beselt.
Beselt can play up and down the lineup, specializing with his special teams work. “He’s a coach’s player, someone you can rely on in almost every situation. We have high expectations for Eli this season,” Assistant GM David Beaupré.
Charlie Travers is a 2009 6’1 175-Ib defenseman from the NW Hawks program. Last season, Travers notched 11 points in 30 games, as well as 68 penalty minutes. He plays a strong defensive game, using his size and physicality to his advantage.
“I think I fit in as a physical defenceman. I like to play hard, finish my hits, and use my shot from the blue line. I’ll do whatever the team needs to help us win and I’m looking forward to earning my spot.”
Travers was the first commitment out of the spring program and impressed coaching staff early. “He has a heavy shot and plays strong positionally in the defensive zone while moving pucks up quickly to the forwards,” Assistant GM David Beaupré.
Dylan Wang is a 2009 5’8 145-Ib right shot defenseman who spent the past three seasons in the NW Hawks program. Last season, he notched two goals and 14 assists for 16 points in 30 games in the regular season. His production continued into the playoffs, putting up one goal and three assists for four points in six games.
“I bring speed, energy, and a strong work ethic. I like to keep my game simple and reliable. I’m focused on making smart plays, competing hard and doing whatever I can to help the team succeed,” Dylan Wang.
Wang’s intense compete level, speed and puck transportation can translate well to the Junior hockey level. “We see a high ceiling for Dylan. He has the ability to transport the puck, push the pace and control the play. He will fit in nicely with what we see as a younger and skilled backend,” Assistant GM David Beaupré.
Cohen Waite is a 2010 6’0 155-Ib defenseman from the NW Hawks program. Before joining the Hawks, he played for the North Shore Warriors U15 AAA, where he excelled, scoring 14 goals and 24 assists for 38 points in 35 games. After making the switch to U17 last season, he recorded three goals and nine assists for 12 points in 34 games.
“I think my game will see great improvement throughout the season as I will be playing a higher level of hockey and against older and stronger opponents. I will be surrounded by more experienced hockey players and a strong coaching staff. ” Cohen Waite.
Waite’s hockey IQ, offensive skills and experience playing with older players make him a great fit on the Wolf Pack. “He is calm with the puck and is skilled at creating offence. He is a very coachable player, and we are excited that he has decided to be a part of our program”, Assistant GM David Beaupré.
The Wolf Pack’s newly signed players are anticipated to strengthen the team’s dynamics and bring more youth to an already young group. Defensemen Charlie Travers, Dylan Wang and Cohen Waite each bring unique playing styles to the defensive core, while Connor Green and Elias Beselt will add important offensive depth.
