The North Vancouver Wolf Pack is proud to announce Lucas Davidson as the captain for the 2026-2027 season. Lucas has played with the Wolf Pack for the past two seasons, where he has solidified his value to the team on and off the ice. Over the past couple of years, he tallied 59 goals and 68 assists for 127 points in 78 games played.
This is his first time captaining any team, but he is looking forward to the new opportunity to lead a young and upcoming group of guys. “It’s pretty special, I’ve never been a captain before, so it’s super cool. It’s a new role for me. Our previous captains, Cohen Wiederick and Jason Scott, were awesome, so it’s big shoes to fill, but I’m excited,” said Lucas.
Assistant Coach and AGM David Beaupré says it was an easy decision for the coaching staff to name Lucas as the next captain. He understands what it takes to play at a high-level. The commitment, dedication and seriousness that he consistently puts forward into his game is a great example for the rest of the team. “We want Lucas to set a certain standard and culture in the room and on the ice for these younger players,” said David.
The star winger wants to take more of a lead-by-example approach to his captaincy. It is oftentimes expected that to be a leader you need to be loud and yelling in order to pump the guys up, but that is not at all Lucas’ approach. His dedication to his game speaks for itself and it is contagious around the locker room.
“The calmness, seriousness and focus that he brings, people want to emulate that and they gravitate to it,” continued David. “All those things I said about Lucas are important, but even more than that, he’s just a great human. He cares, he’s kind, he is thoughtful and he wants to help his teammates get better.”
Lucas is confident in his new team and excited to lead the group for the first time. “The guys I’ve met seem super determined and want to win. I think we have a deep team this year and I believe we can win,” he said. He believes the Wolf Pack is comprised of a great group of players who are committed to consistently improving their game and helping the team win.
