Wolf Pack Captaincy Group Announced

Forwards Jack Jobst-Smith and Max Kinnee have joined the Wolf Pack captaincy group, alongside captain Lucas Davidson. The two veterans have become the first two alternate captains for the North Vancouver Wolf Pack in the 2026-2027 regular season.

Max Kinnee rejoined the team this season after finishing last year with the 100 Mile House Wranglers of the KIJHL. Before his stint in Alberta, Kinnee played 11 games with the Wolf Pack, scoring three goals and adding seven assists for 10 points.

His junior hockey experience is a big reason why he was selected as an alternate captain. “This is my third year now, playing in different places. I have a lot of experience when it comes to playing in junior,” said Kinnee.

Kinnee is dedicated and a hard worker on and off the ice. He plays as an unselfish playmaker who always tries to pass first. Through his first five games this season, he has a goal and seven assists for eight points. The veteran says he is excited that the coaches had faith in him and he is looking forward to bringing his leadership to a young team. “I’m not really the loudest guy, I’m more of a lead-by-example leader. By working hard every practice, every game, every workout and speaking up when I have to,” he said.

Jack Jobst-Smith played last season overseas in the Slovakia3 league for HK Slovan Levice. He gained indispensable experience playing with players 10 years older than him. InĀ “I think playing in Europe last year definitely had a role in the coaching staff choosing me. I’m a big talker in the room, so the guys for sure listen to me,’ said Jobst-Smith.

He played with the Wolf Pack in the 2024-2025 season, where he notched 11 points in 45 games played. The power forward has taken a big step after his time in Slovakia, helping him gain more skill and physicality, and has now become a top-six forward.

Jobst-Smith has three goals and two assists through five games, including his first-ever hat-trick last week. He is looking forward to the season and can’t wait to see what comes. “I’m super excited, I didn’t really expect it to happen. I’m super fortunate to have this role and I’m very grateful,” he said.

Max Kinnee and Jack Jobst-Smith join the captaincy group as alternate captains, with Lucas Davidson serving as the captain. Their leadership on and off the ice has been clear in the team’s resilient efforts and consecutive goal streaks to start the season. The three forwards have combined for seven goals and 26 points in the first five games to start the regular season.
