WOLF PACK FORCE GAME SIX

With a 5-2 win tonight the North Vancouver Wolf Pack are headed to White Rock for game six. JJ Pickell opened the scoring with his first of the playoffs and that goal was scored on the man advantage marking the first power-play goal of the series for North Vancouver. Pickell would go on to score once more, while Binette, Bailey, and Reimer notched one goal each. Svendson and Fortems scored the two goals for the Whalers.

BOX SCORE

 

1st Period:

NV –  JJ Pickell ended an 0/17 power-play slump for his team with his first of the playoffs at the 8:18 mark. Pickell fired home a one-time shot from the right circle off a pass from Jonathan Wong.

 

NV –  Five seconds after the goal by JJ Pickell, Alex Binette decided to give his team a 2-0 lead. Gaetano Cammarata stripped the puck from a Whalers defenceman and skated towards goal before passing the puck over to Binette who buried his second goal of the playoffs from the left side.

 

NV –  Devon Bailey denied the Whalers the opportunity to clear the puck from their zone as he got in the way of the clearing attempt before getting control of the puck and firing it home from the left side. Bailey’s second goal of the playoffs was unassisted and came at the 15:48 mark of the period.

2nd Period:

* Adam Winters replaced Keegan Maddocks (16/19) in goal to start the second period

 

NV –  JJ Pickell made it a 4-0 Wolf Pack game with his second goal of the night 3:21 into the middle frame. Wong held the puck in at the blue line before dishing the puck to the right for Pickell who then gave it to Carniel before firing a one-two feed into the net.

 

WR – With a power-play chance of their own the White Rock Whalers were able to get on the board. Burry sent a cross-ice pass to the point for Newson who then fired a shot towards the Wolf Pack net that was deflected past Perovic by Cole Svendson. Svendson’s second goal of the series came at the 6:40 mark.

 

NV – Anthony Reimer tipped him a point shot from Wolf Pack defenceman Billy Johal at the front of the Whalers net for his second goal of the series. Corson Penman earned the final assist on the last goal of the night for North Vancouver at 7:03 of the second period. 

 

WR – With 1:22 remaining in the second period the White Rock Whalers got on the board for the second and final time. La Roue took a shot on goal from the right faceoff circle creating a rebound for Chris Fortems to poke in from his knees. Sherwin picked up the second assist.
