Coyle Scores Three Goals to Propel the Wolf Pack to a 6-1 Victory in the Last Game of 2021
Friday afternoon in Richmond, the North Vancouver Wolf Pack (26-6-1-1) defeated the Mission City Outlaws (13-11-1-3) 6-1. This was the first of two PJHL Winter Classic games for the Wolf Pack and this game saw the Wolf Pack play the role as the host team. David Coyle scored three times, Ryan Hunter scored twice, the Captain Alex Binette scored a goal and Joshua Romeyn scored the lone goal for the Outlaws.

BOX SCORE
1st Period:
NV – Seven minutes into the period, Ryan Hunter opened the scoring for the Wolf Pack by finding a loose puck that had hit the crossbar before being deposited into the back of the net. That was Hunter’s eleventh goal of the season and it was assisted by Matthew Carniel and Alex Binette.
NV – With 10:16 to go in the first, David Coyle (21) extended the Wolf Pack lead to 2-0. Coyle scored his first goal of the game thanks to his wrap-around move that beat Outlaws goaltender Max Fowle. Corson Penman grabbed the assist.

2nd Period:
*Dario Zitko was assessed a check from behind penalty and a game misconduct at the 3:22 mark of the second period. The Outlaws were given a two minute Power Play.
NV – Max Fowle couldn’t freeze the loose puck, as Ryan Hunter found it and extended the Wolf Pack lead to 3-0. Hunter’s twelfth of the season and second of the game came on the Power Play and was assisted by JJ Pickell and Matthew Carniel. That goal was scored at the 7:54 mark in the middle frame.
NV – The Captain Alex Binette made it a 4-0 Wolf Pack game as he scored his ninth, a Power Play goal, at 16:50 of the second period. It was a low stick side shot that snuck past Outlaws goaltender Max Fowle. Carniel and Pickell factored in on the goal.

3rd Period:
NV – Coyle (22) got his second goal of the game thanks to his bar down backhand shot that gave the Wolf Pack a 5-0 lead at 5:12 of the third period. JJ Pickell picked up the lone assist.
NV – Coyle (23) buried a top shelf shot to give the Wolf Pack a 6-0 lead with 9:51 remaining. Hunter and Thornley-Hall earned assists on Coyle’s third goal of the game.
MISS – The Outlaws finally got on the board and ruined the shootout dream for Sam Gilmore thanks to a goal from Joshua Romeyn (11). Stewart and Martin tallied assists on that goal that was scored at 16:56.
