OATMAN NAMED PLAYER OF THE MONTH FOR SEPTEMBER

The first month of the PJHL regular season is now in the books, which means it’s time to name the player of the month! He played in all but one game in September and finished second in points among his teammates; his name is Rylan Oatman.

It didn’t take long for the left-shot forward to make an impact on the scoresheet as he scored a goal in his PJHL debut. The native of Squamish, BC, compiled an even five goals and five assists for 10 points in six games. Oatman finished the month by helping his team defeat the Ice Hawks 8-1 with his first career hat trick. He also factored in on two goals in that game, making it a five-point outing for the rookie. “It’s going great,” Oatman said while reflecting on his first year in the PJHL. “It’s a good group we got, so it’s been pretty fun.”

The right-handed forward is the second player on his team to hit double digits in points and the second to score a hat trick. Oatman is also third in rookie scoring in the league. Oatman was also named the PJHL’s first star of the week. “It feels good. I got to thank my teammates for helping me out with that,” said Oatman.

The Wolf Pack compiled a winning record of 4-3-0-0 through their first seven games and will play nine this month. The team will host the Grandview Steelers on Saturday, and it’s never too late to get tickets for that game!
