This morning in Richmond, the Port Moody Panthers defeated the North Vancouver Wolf Pack for the second time in five years. Port Moody had a 5-1 lead entering the third period, but the Wolf Pack picked up their pace and tried getting back on track, but their comeback bid fell just short. North Vancouver had seven opportunities on the man advantage but only managed one goal.

(PM) 8:46 – In his Panthers debut, defenceman Sahilpreet Deol recorded an assist on his team’s first goal of the game. Ethan Chu (1) Picked up a cross-ice pass from Deol and wired a shot home from the point.

(PM) 12:08 – Port Moody was full of energy inside of the Wolf Pack zone before doubling their lead in the game. Sahib Basra (4) took advantage of an open cage along the right side of Wolf Pack goaltender Owen Bonthuis. Callum Whiteway picked up the assist on the play.

(PM) 14:53 – It took 22 seconds for the Port Moody Panthers to capitalize on their first power play opportunity of the game. The Wolf Pack gave Panthers captain Connor Hughes (16) lots of time and room in front of their net, making it a 4-1 lead for the Panthers.

(PM) 15:34 – 41 seconds after the Panthers scored their last goal, their team was able to go up 5-1. Nicolas Lee and Enver Chan (2) were involved in a give-and-go that saw Chan go high-glove on Owen Bonthuis.
