For the second time this season and back-to-back weeks, JJ Pickell is a PJHL Star of the Week. It’s the fourth time a player has been named a PJHL Star of the Week in North Vancouver.
JJ Pickell put up eight points (4-4) in three games this past week. The native of Calgary, AB, leads his teammates in points (16-12-28) by a three-point margin. Pickell is first in goals scored on the Wolf Pack, sitting seven goals ahead of Rylan Oatman, who sits second.
The left-shot forward will enter the game against Port Coquitlam with a ten-game point streak. He has 16 goals and ten assists in that span. Pickell is clicking at two points a game right now. “I’m happy with the trend we are going in, but we are only looking to get better from here,” said Pickell.
Regarding how Pickell lines up against other players in the PJHL, the captain is three points behind Delta’s Carson Merriman, but Merriman has played three more games. Pickell’s twelve assists put him twelfth in assists, but his 16 goals are the best in the PJHL.
North Vancouver is currently getting set for two games this weekend. The club hosts Port Coquitlam for the first time in franchise history tomorrow and then visits the Grandview Steelers on Sunday. Tickets for tomorrow’s game can be purchased at the gate or online.
