The North Vancouver Wolf Pack is thrilled to announce the return of forwards Lucas Davidson and Jack Jobst-Smith for the 2026-2027 season.
Lucas is coming back to the pack for his third and final year of junior hockey. He first joined the Wolf Pack for the 2024-2025 season, where he had a remarkable rookie season, recording 38 goals and 34 assists for 72 points in 46 games. After his rookie year, the star winger had a brief stint in the Alberta Junior Hockey League, where he played five games with the Olds Grizzlys before returning home. He fit right back into the team, potting 21 goals and 55 assists in only 32 games.
“I think the chemistry last year didn’t take long at all when I came back. The guys are just awesome, they welcomed me in right away. Everyone’s so nice and it’s super easy to build relationships around the locker room,” Lucas said.
Lucas’ decision to return to North Van for his final season was pretty simple. His familiarity with the players and coaches, along with the overall strength of the team, helped him commit.
“I’ve known Dave Beaupré for almost 10 years now, he coached me in Peewee and Matt Sampson, I’ve got to know him the last couple of years. It’s a great coaching staff,” he continued. “I think our returning players this year are really strong and we’ve signed a bunch of guys in this offseason, younger guys who can make an immediate impact in this league.”
“I’m super motivated and pumped up for this year. I think this upcoming season is going to be a big one for our team,” he said.
Jack Jobst-Smith is returning to the Wolf Pack after playing last year in Europe. The 6’1, 170-Ib power forward spent last season with the HK Slovan Levice of the Slovakia3 league, where he faced players ten years older than him. In 18 games, he netted two goals and five assists for seven points.
“Playing against those bigger guys last year definitely made me stronger and more physical as a player, so I think I’ll definitely stand out in this league,” he said. Jack was able to develop his game in Slovakia further, making him a more physical and skilled player.
Despite his improvement in his game, he still missed his home back in North Vancouver. He started his junior hockey career with the Wolf Pack during the 2024-2025 season. He notched three goals and eight assists for 11 points in 45 games.
The connections he made with the players and coaching staff during his time with the Pack made it apparent where he wanted to be after his time in Slovakia.
“I think it’s the group of guys for me… I’ve also known Matt for quite a while and I just met Beaupré this year; they’re awesome. They’re super helpful, and they definitely want to do what’s best for the team and I respect it, so I’m happy to come back and play for them,” he said.
Lucas and Jack are motivated and looking forward to playing for their hometown team again. With the returning players and the new group of commitments joining the Pack, they’re confident in the team and are ready to compete.
