The North Vancouver Wolf Pack has traded Mack Souter to the Timmins Rock of the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League. Mack played his past two seasons with the Wolf Pack, where he proved himself as an everyday top-pair defenseman. In his rookie year, he notched one goal and 11 assists for 12 points in 33 games. He then followed that up with an outstanding sophomore year, emerging as the team’s top defenseman with eight goals and 21 assists for 29 points in 40 games.
Mack attributes part of his success and growth as a player to the Wolf Pack’s organization. “The coaches trusted me and gave me lots of opportunities, which helped me improve my overall game. I’m really grateful for everything they did to help me get to the point I am at now,” he said.
Last year’s team had a really close bond. Mack says he made lifelong friendships with a lot of the guys on the team and that’s something he’s definitely going to miss. He is thankful for his time with the Wolf Pack and being around everyone involved in the organization, but he’s looking forward to this next chapter in his hockey journey.
“I’m excited for the opportunity to play at the next level and challenge myself against some great players. I’m looking forward to meeting the team, learning from the coaches, and doing whatever I can to help the Timmins Rock win games,” said the defenseman.
Mack joins a strong Timmins program where he can take the next step in his hockey career. The Wolf Pack would like to thank him for all his contributions not only to the team but also to the community of North Vancouver. We wish Mack luck in the rest of his hockey journey and hope he excels with the Timmins Rock.
