Young Cubs

Port Moody is last in the Tom Shaw Conference, but is one point better than Surrey whom they’ve won the season series against 2-0. It’s important to note that ten of the games that the Panthers have played this season have been decided by two goals or less. The Panthers, however, are finding the back of the net with 79 goals to date — that’s more than five other PJHL teams across the 13-club competition. Twenty of the twenty five players on the Panthers are in their first season of PJHL hockey which certainly helps to explain the reasons as to why this team has struggled. Experience takes time, but hard work starts right away and that is one thing that this Panthers team certainly can do.

Panthers Win!

The Panthers enter tonight’s game as the second to last placed team in the PJHL. With that being said, Port Moody did add another win to their record in the last game that they played. The 6-0 shutout win over the Surrey Knights Wednesday night (Nov. 24) ended an eight-game losing streak. Despite the first clean sheet since January 2020, it’s only the third win of the year for Port Moody as their record sits at 3-21.

Keeping it Harry!

This week news came out stating that Harry Jerome, the home of the Wolf Pack, will stay for another four years until the new Harry Jerome is built. The Wolf Pack and many people in the community did not want to see Harry Jerome go so this is great news for everyone in the city of North Vancouver! Construction on the new Harry Jerome is expected to begin in the new year.

Teddy Bear Toss Announced

The North Vancouver Wolf Pack is partnering with Family Services of the North Shore to present Teddy Bear Toss night on Saturday, December 11th. This is the 2nd ever Teddy Bear Toss game that the Wolf Pack will be hosting. Fans are encouraged to bring teddy bears to the game and when the Wolf Pack score their first goal of the game, fans can throw the stuffed animals onto the ice. We’ll collect the stuffies so that the teddy bears can then be donated to the North Shore Christmas Bureau where they will be gifted to families and children to ensure that every child in our community has a smile on their face come Christmas Day.

Final Words

Tonight is the fourth of five times that these two teams will meet one another in a regular season game. North Van is 15-0-0-0 against Port Moody over the last five years. A win tonight would give the Wolf  Pack their tenth home victory, and their twentieth overall.
