Wolf Pack to participate in 42nd Annual Terry Fox Run

On Sunday, September 18th the Wolf Pack will be participating in the 42nd annual Terry Fox run. This event is the first community event that the team is set to participate in during season 15.

Terry’s fortitude and no-quit attitude was evident in every mile he completed. Beginning at 4:30 am, he often ran until evening and was just as inspired by the people he met along the way as they were by him. On September 1st, after running 5,373 kilometres, Terry was forced to stop due to a recurrence of cancer in his lungs. Before his death on June 28, 1981, Terry had achieved his once unimaginable goal of $1 from every Canadian. More importantly, he had set in motion the framework for an event, The Terry Fox Run, that would ignite cancer research in Canada, raising more than $850 million since 1980, and bring hope and health to millions of Canadians.

Terry wanted to be an example of perseverance and courage. Terry’s no-quit attitude inspires us to dream more, do more, and be more.

“I’ve said to people before that I’m going to do my very best to make it, I’m not going to give up. But I might not make it… if I don’t, the Marathon of Hope better continue.” – Terry Fox

Now in its fifth decade and embodying the no-quit attitude of its namesake, the annual Terry Fox Run will return in person on September 18th uniting communities from coast to coast, fueling progress and hope that one day a cure will be found.

“Our team is made up of players between the ages of 15-20. The players, like Terry Fox, are passionate about sports and are always willing to help their local communities. This is a great event for our players to be involved in as we look back on our bright past both on and off the ice as an organization,” commented Giancarlo Nadeau.

Fans can donate to the Terry Fox Foundation through the team’s custom online link or by bringing cash to the home opener this Saturday. Keep that no quit attitude going as every donation brings us closer to fulfilling Terry’s dream of a world without cancer. Help the team reach their goal of $200!
